The JBI Suspension WP AER48 / XACT48 Pro Fork features internal JBI Suspension valving mods matched with select hardware upgrades to get the most performance out of the WP AER48 / WP XACT AER48 Fork for Motocross, Enduro, Off-Road, Arenacross, FMX, and Free Riding.

Incorporating the JBI Suspension WP AER48 / XACT48 Pro Fork Kit allows for running less air pressure in the fork without the fork being overly soft. The improved damping efficiency of the fork along with lower air pressure results in a big improvement in fork comfort, feel, and sensitivity over small/medium size bumps. This feeling is often described as fork "plushness".

What is a "subvalve" or also know as "low speed valve?"
A subvalve more effectively meters the oil flow thru the bypass circuit of a compression valve assembly. Most often the oil flowing thru the bypass circuit is only controlled/adjusted by changing the setting of the compression clicker. While the compression clicker functions well in altering the total volume of oil that can flow thru the bypass circuit, there is still room for improving how to control/manage the oil flow (pressure) thru the bypass circuit. A subvalve adds the ability to control the flow of oil thru the bypass circuit with suspension shims AND the clicker adjuster. With the addition of shims, the oil is no longer able to freely flow thru the bypass circuit without light initial resistance. This light initial resistance is key as it allows for more effective control of the fork compression damping system thru the entire suspension travel at all speeds/pressures. That is why it is possible to run less air pressure in the WP AER48 fork without it being overly soft. Subvalves (aka low speed valves) are common in high end A-Kit forks and all production KYB SSS forks.

I’m not the most experienced rider nor have I rode a bunch of different bikes, but I have rode the AER on my KTM and KYB on the Yamaha. You still don’t get the KYB spring fork feel with this kit, but it’s not a spring kit so it’s always going to feel different. With that being said this fork works. Period. Full stop. I ride on moto track and flowy to technical single track so I want a fork that can react to so many different situations. I’m getter older (and rounder) so I want comfort. I’m a bit of a jack of all trades master of none, and I can only afford a single bike. This all makes for an extremely hard ask for any fork, if not Mission Impossible. I got this fork thinking that it may help with feel or performance, and I was pleasantly surprised when both were significantly improved.
On track the hold up and front traction was right on par with the KYB on my buddy’s Yamaha. This is subjective, but he even agreed that it felt good. The bike didn’t get stacked up on the fork so the handling was not edgy, but it not feel like I was on a chopper. I could feel what the front was doing, but I didn’t have sensory overload or stinging through my bars. I’m not fast on track by any means, nor do I do big hits or transfer, but I didn’t feel like I could bottom this fork out, and I had plenty of travel in it every time I checked where my travel bands (I don’t know what they are called technically) were on my fork tubes. Again, this didn’t feel like a spring fork cause of how progressive air forks are. Maybe some kind of volume increase could help people that like the linear feel of spring? But I’m just thinking out of the box on that. I like the progressive feel so it doesn’t bother me in the least.
Single track is where I’m most impressed with this for fork. I call my bike a monster truck now. I can plow through rocks and roots. The faster I can muster myself to hit it the better it feels. I sped up the rebound just a bit to get a more playful bike cause I like to change lines and hop from one side of the trail to the other, and it still did not feel like I was deflecting off a single root or rock. I literally scream “MONSTER TRUCK!” as I bash into rocky/root sections. It’s literally the most fun I can have outside the bedroom. Just a plan hoot. I had to ride so much more timid with the stock setup. It’s confidence inspiring and I feel that I will be able to push myself to be a better rider. I had the kit set up for fat/slow/old moto, so I wasn’t expecting the off-road to be so great, but man was I wrong.
Thank you so much JB for a great product and easy to follow video on installation. I’m very happy with the results and beyond happy that I get to say I did the work to my own fork. I will be very happy to suggest your products to anybody, and looking forward to doing it on my next bike.

I’ve previously had valving done by a few local shops and by a very well known name but none of them came close to how well these forks work. They are extremely plush and connected feeling with no more harshness or chatter. They give me way more confidence leaning into corners because I can feel the traction I have. I went with the DIY Pro kit and I love that I have excellent valving specs now and that it also addressed the cheap stock plastic rebound piston with this kit. Thanks JB for the time you put into this!
